New Stadium Project Is Ongoing – Express CEO Mwesigwa

Express FC CEO Isaac Mwesigwa has provided an update on the club’s new stadium plans.

Last year, Express FC revealed plans of constructing their own stadium and move away from Wankulukuku.

The club confirmed that they had acquired land in Kasanje Sub County, Wakiso District where they were to hoist a 20,000-seater stadium.

More so, the club projected to start using their new stadium halfway through the 2019/20 season.

“The stadium project is ongoing, architectural designs have been completed but that said, we’re still at Wankulukuku stadium and we’re surely getting their, our fans should know,” Mwesigwa said while appearing on NTV Press Box.

Mwesigwa’s comment was brief and it provided no insight on when actual construction on the site will start.

Last year, Tropical Sports Limited was contracted by the club to construct the new stadium.

The stadium, going by artistic impressions, will have a swimming pool and hotel and an indoor arena.
