Twinamatsiko Joins Kigezi After Promoting Kitara

Mark Twinamatsiko has been unveiled as the new coach of FUFA Big League club for the next three years.

The unveiling was made on Friday evening at the Lotis Tower in Nakasero, Kampala where a new CEO Brian Akankwasa was also unveiled.

Twinamatsiko joins Kigezi days after promoting Kitara FC to Uganda Premier League when they beat Kiboga Young in the promotional final.

“I thank the president and the board if Kigezi Homeboyz for entrusting me for this opportunity,” started Twinamatsiko.

“I have been following the club, am aware of their plans, and when they came for me, they told me that they needed a modern coach like me to take the club forward. I have taken the right decision, and I will not regret.

“I promise you to work with all my heart, and with three years, I promise to deliver this club to UPL at the end of next season.

“I am going to use young but quality players. They finished fourth but we want direct promotion this time round. I will do my best, and experience to achieve my targets.”

Twinamatsiko, a CAF B licensed coach, will work with Lawrence Bakiranze among his other backroom staff he worked with at Kitara FC.

The former Saints and Dove FC coach urged his new bosses to support the club most especially in terms of finances.

He revealed that he had already agreed a deal to join Kigezi in May this year.

Kigezi finished last season in fourth place with 19 points, just three points outside the playoffs bracket, in the Rwenzori club.
