Two Foreign-based Players Named In Uganda Hippos Squad

Two Foreign-based players have been summoned in the Uganda U20 (Hippos) squad ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations Zonal Qualifiers.

The Qualifiers, where Uganda is in group B alongside Burundi, Eritrea and South Sudan, will be played in Tanzania due November 22nd to December 6th, 2020.

KCCA FC assistant coach Morley Byekwaso was recently named as the head coach of the Hippos.

He has named a provisional squad of 46 players who enter camp on Saturday, 31st October 2020 after mandatory Covid19 tests.

The Hippos will start training on 1st to4th November at IUIU Campus, Kabojja before a residential camp Njeru up to 19th November 2020, FUFA has said.

The team, includes forward Jamal Masiko, a winger who plies his trade in Swedish lower divisions. He plays for Malmo Fria Laroverken.

The other player is fullback Sammy Ssebaduka, son to former Posta FC player Godfrey Ssembeguya.

Bebe Cool’s son Apha Thierry Ssali has also made the squad.

Express FC’s new signing Richard Bbosa is part of the team.

However, the chore of the team will surely be the players who have had their Uganda Premier League appearances like Vipers duo Bobosi Byaruhanga and Aziz Kayondo, Busoga United starlet Isma Mugulusi, Villa’s rock solid defender Gavin Kizito among others.

KCCA FC youngsters including Joseph Kafumbe, Musa Ramathan, Steven Sserwadda, Joseph Kizza Bukenya, Sunday Opio, Samuel Bukenya are part of the team.
