URA FC Announces Katongole Signing

Uganda Premier League side URA FC have finally announced the signing of defender Farouk Katongole.

Katongole joins the Tax collectors on a one-year season-long loan deal from Tooro United ahead of the 2020/2021 season.

He is the latest signing after Jackson Nunda, Galiwango Arafat, Hannington Ssebwalunyo, Davis Ssali, Nkuubi Brian and Mukwala Steven.

I’m so excited to join one of the biggest teams in Uganda. URA really has some good defenders but I have come to add on the quality and competition on the squad,” he is quoted by the club website.

Katongole boosts Sam Ssimbwa’s defensive options that include Mbowa Patrick, Hudu Mulikyi and Nyakoojo Benjamin in the heart of defence.

Katongole added: “I have to work so so hard to get playing time.”

After finishing fifth last season, URA FC will be targeting silverware when the season kicks off in December.
