Gazelles star Claire Lamunu is among the panelists for the forthcoming ‘Women and Sports’ conference.
The conference due November 28, will be held at Makerere University and streamed live on Score Beyond Facebook page.
Lamunu, who came to the scene with Gladiators, notably won the 2014 NBL title with KCCA Leopards.
The foreign-based forward, a biochemist student, plays her professional basketball in Finland with Kuovala club.
The four-hour Conference with a theme “Women Taking Lead,” will have both the morning and afternoon sessions.
The event will be moderated by Regina Lunyolo under the topic ‘Strengthening Stakeholder Engagement in Strategic Leadership for Women in Sports in Uganda.’
Other topics to be discussed include Mentorship, Participation and inclusive and gender-responsive policies.
The organisers target to use the conference as a platform where Women will express themselves and share ideas on how to progress their mandate in their respective sporting areas.
Other panelists include Beatrice Ayikoru (World Athletics Council), Adekemi Ndieli (UN Women), Andrew Owor (Rugby Africa) and Shafic Mutebi (Journalist).
