Police FC has tested players for Covid19 ahead of Uganda Premier League kick-off next week.
This, follows a government directive to carry out Covid19 tests before competition restart.
“Covid 19 is real. All our players need to protect themselves, not only acquiring the disease, but also spreading it to colleagues,” Police FC Head Coach Abdallah Mubiru is quoted by the club.
“The only way for them to play a good game and meet their goal is by making sure they are negative from any symptoms of this pandemic.
“There is need for the players to stay safe. It’s embarrassing to come to a match day when a section is positive after training so hard. We are not taking anything for granted.”
In a recent document from FUFA on Covid19 regulations, the Federation said that they will establish a COVID-19 Management Committee which will be mandated to oversee and verify COVID-19 tests for purposes of participating in a FUFA organised and or authorised football competition in Uganda.
The Uganda Premier League will kickoff on December 3rd, Police will face Wakiso Giants the following day before taking a long trip to Tororo to face MYDA FC at St George on December 8, 2020.
