*Onduparaka 1-1 Express
Onduparaka battled back to hold Express FC in an eventful affair played out at the Greenlight Stadium in Arua.
Frank Kalanda, who scored 11 goals last season, put the Red Eagles in the lead from the spot after he was fouled by Javen Mahad.
Express finished the game with a man down after skipper Enock Walusimbi was sent off in the 67th minute for a handball in the box.
Onduparaka forward Kabon living scored the equalizing penalty, sending Mathias Muwanga the wrong direction.
Besides Walusimbi’s red, coach Wasswa Bbosa leaves Arua with a sad taste after his striker and goalscorer Kalanda was stretchered off injured.
The visitors, came into the game with a positive mindset given their off-field preparations and were favourites for maximum points.
They started with constant attacks and it was not a surprise when the got a penalty early in the game.
Onduparaka stepped up in the second half, with goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga forced into many saves including when he denied Kabon Living and Moses Okot.
Living Kabon had his efforts cleared away by Abel Eturude while Express FC’s big chance was a Godfrey Lwesibawa freekick which was kept out by goalkeeper Moses Opoka.
What Next – Express will host Vipers who have a game in hand against MYDA. Onduparaka take a visit to Lugogo to face KCCA FC.
