Frank Kalanda Targets UPL Golden Boot

Express FC striker Frank Kalanda wants the 2020/21 Uganda Premier League golden boot.

The striker was on target as Express beat Bright Stars 2-1 on Saturday at Wankulukuku.

He has scored two goals from as many goals, having netted the only Express goals in a 1-1 draw on opening day against Onduparaka FC.

“I want to thank God for the opportunity of being able to score in two straight games,” Kalanda told the club.

“I am focusing and am working hard towards being the top scorer this season.”

“The competition we have amongst ourselves as players is healthy, everyone knows the target at hand, win silverware and have consistency and we shall overcome.”

Currently, KCCA FC duo Sam Ssenyonjo and Brian Aheebwa and UPDF striker Brian Kalumba lead the chats with five goals while Ben Ocen (Police) and Joseph Ssemujju (BUL) have scored four each.

Kalanda, christened as Machete the only Man Machine, scored 11 goals last season, just two shy of top scorer Steven Mukwala.

The last Express FC player to win the golden boot was Hassan Mubiru who scored 16 goals in 2002/3 to retain his gong for a third year running then.
