Kyetume FC Technical Director Jackson ‘Mia Mia’ Mayanja has refuted claims of the club board fighting coach Livingston Mbabazi.
Mbabazi was recently quoted by Football256 as saying that there are top officials who are “against the progress” of the club.
Mayanja, who oversaw the promotion of the club from the FUFA Big League, says that all is fine at Kyetume.
The recent outcries come after the club’s slow start to the 2020/21 Uganda Premier League.
The Slaughters have picked three points from as many games – They have shared spoils against Kitara, Wakiso and Busoga United.
“No one is against Mbabazi,” Mayanja told The-SportsNation when contacted.
“We will get back on the right track and start winning ways, its just a matter of time. Mbabazi has new players which I think will take some few games to start gelling.
“But other teams are also struggling as well. We are not any pressure, and no one is conniving to sack Mbabazi.
“There are still struggles in terms of finances due to Covid19 pandemic, but the situation is slowly coming back to normal and I am confident that they will get paid soon.”
Mbabazi who joined the Slaughters from Wakiso Giants, will hope to get maximum points on Wednesday as his side play host to newcomers and on-form UPDF FC.
The side, that finished 11th last season with 30 points from 25 games, coincidentally sit in 11 place currently going into Wednesday games.
Next after UPDF, Kyetume face another home game against BUL FC before the league takes a long break due to CHAN assignments until February.
Kyetume who recently unveiled a partnership with Betting company Melbet, will be hoping to host their next UPL games in Nakisunga after the venue failed to make the grade during the initial FUFA Stadium Inspection.
