Focus Is On Express – SC Villa Captain Asuman Alishe

SC Villa captain Asuman Alishe says that they have shifted focus on Express FC after overcoming early pace setters KCCA FC.

The Jogoos halted KCCA FC’s three-game unbeaten run on Tuesday with a 2-1 win in Bombo Barracks thanks to goals from Nicholas Kabonge and Ronald Ssekiganda.

However, Villa had to dug deep after KCCA had brought one back through Brian Aheebwa in the closing stages.

“I want to thank our fans, the technical teams and players for the win,” Alishe stated.

“We didn’t ashame them as we promised that we had to win, but unfortunately they scored one but we managed to get a win so that means we are starting to take shape.”

Villa lost key players going into the 2020/21 season and rumours about financial struggles hinted another dry season ahead.

They have won two from five, one loss against URA and an opening draw against BUL FC to move to fifth place with seven points.

Alishe is confident that Villa can challenge for a title this season: “Villa is a great team so we have to keep it lighting up as we win games and chase the trophy this season.”

“Now its nolonger news that KCCA game has ended, the news will be against Express on Saturday which we need the most.”

Against Express FC on Saturday, they face a side they beat home and away 1-0 last season.
