KCCA FC Manager Mike Mutebi is demanding a rapid return to quick-fire football from his side after Villa loss ahead of URA FC encounter on Friday.

KCCA FC’s winning start in the 2020/21 UPL came to a sad end against SC Villa in Bombo on Tuesday.

The 13-time league winners came into the game on the back of three wins but put up a sluggish display against Villa who won the encounter 2-1.

“Villa didn’t score because they asked us so many questions, but its because we were Careless and not creative,” Mutebi said on Thursday.

“We have to ensure that our attacking midfielders do their duties this time. They were playing square passes, not penetrating and vertical which made the game very difficult.”

Mutebi and KCCA have a chance to redeem themselves when a tricky URA FC side visit Lugogo on Friday in what promises to be a pulsating affair.

“There must be a reaction from the boys,” the gaffer added. “I expect a different KCCA, they boys have a responsibility to win this game because we need it so much that it will give us confidence ahead of AS Kigali game in CAF Confederation Cup.”

“We are going to do our best so that we win. We had a good run before the Villa game and we want to revive it. Its not going to be an easy game but I believe we have enough in our armoury to negotiate past the tie.”

On the concern of using some of his players out of position, Mutebi justified his decision by saying that he has a thin squad due to injuries and Covid before adding that most of his players are very versatile hence can play anywhere on the field.
