Uganda started their CHAN Preparations on Monday with a classroom session at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisasi.
The players were taken through the introductions, sensitised about the objectives and goals of the camp and tournament.
Ahead of CHAN, Uganda will take part in a Mini tourney due January 1-7 in Cameroon alongside hosts, Zambia and Niger.
“All players now have reported in the camp along with team officials and it has been a good start with,” Mckinstry said.
“We have been able to conduct an early introductory session with everybody just outlining what objectives are for training camp and for the tournament its self and how see the next 6-7 weeks are panning out and just generally the goals we are setting and expectations for all the players before on and off the field.
“We feel everybody is very confident and people are very excited to get started, for the majority of the players this will their first opportunity to play at CHAN tournament, we got two or three players who been there before but for the majority,this will be something new,
“So there is a lot of excitement and enthusiasm amongst players and staff, so we are really just happy to be getting started and we are looking forward to this week here in Kampala and to travel in Cameroon next week.”
On field training will begin on Tuesday with a double session at MUBS play ground in Nakawa.
The CHAN tourney, exclusively featuring players who are active in the national championships and qualified to play in the ongoing season, will be staged in Cameroon from January 16 to February 7, 2021.
Uganda is in Group C alongside Morocco, Rwanda and Togo.
