Fixture: Uganda Cranes Learn Pre-CHAN Schedule

Uganda Cranes will open with hosts Cameroon this Friday, January 1 in the Pre CHAN mini tournament.

Uganda, who arrived in Cameroon on Tuesday, will then face Zambia on January 4 before Niger three days later.

The four-team tournament will fine tune the participating countries ahead of CHAN .

CHAN will kickoff on January 16 to February 7 with Uganda pooled in Group C alongside Togo, Morocco and neighbors Rwanda.

Ahead of the Pre-Chan mini tournament, Uganda Cranes coach Jonathan Mckinstry, National team’s officer Paul Mukatabala and performance analyst Alex McCarthy paid a courtesy visit to the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaounde where the tourney will be held.

The Cranes will hold their first full training session in Cameroon today at 4pm at the Stade Ahmadou.

Cranes contingent in Cameroon has 25 players without KCCA FC players who will join the team later after their CAF Confederation Cup game against AS Kigali on January 5/6.

In preparation for Uganda Cranes and the Pre-Chan tourney in general, Cameroon has so far played two friendlies – losing 1-0 to Ranard of Melong and a goalless draw on Tuesday against UMS of Loum in Douala.
