The local Masaza organising Commitee has slappe Busiro FC team with a fine of 400000Ugx for verbally attacking referees.
The fined Officials are team head coach Ronald Mukulu and team Manager Moore Mujuuzi, each fined a sum of 200000ugx, which they have to pay before their next match this Sunday.
The two officials were trying to show their dissatisfaction over referee’s calls in their 2-1 win against Busujju last Wednesday in the ongoing 2020 Masaza Cup tournament at Njeru.
The fine has been confirmed by the acting chairman Njeru Committee, Festus Kirumira who also warned all the other officials and players not to misbehave.
“On its course of trying to keep discipline, the committee has two Busiro FC officials including head coach Ronald Mukulu and Moore Mujuzi who have been punished with a fine of 200000 ugx after loosing their manners and attacked Referee’s dressing room trying to show their dissatisfaction,” he said on Friday.
“And when we looked into the matter, there was no big issue. We continue to warn any player or official who will misbehave while in Camp will be punished. We ask them to report their dissatisfactions to the committee.”
It is said that the the two officials attacked Referees in their room at half time break when Busiro is trailing down 1-0 from a penalty awarded by center referee Anna Akoyi.
The penalty was one of the many ‘unconvincing’ calls made by the referees which tested Busiro officials temper.
Its should be noted that this is not the first fine imposed on teams and official in the ongoing tourney – Singo as a team and some of its officials were also fined for breaching rules and Bululi was also fined 500000 for breaking rules as well.
The chairman also clarified on the issue of Striker Umar Kayemba who wanted to switch team and caught by the law.
“There is a player Kayemba Umar who played for Kyaggwe in last tournament and this time round wanted to change and play for Buwekula team, so when we looked into his request, we found that he is still a Kyaggwe player and we advised him to let his desired side Buwekula negotiate with Kyaggwe to see that he get his release.”
Kayemba was already in the Camp of Buwekula and he scored Buwekula’s only goal when the side is defeating Kyadondo 1-0 in their friendly match prior to its ongoing group encounters.
