Rwanda Premier League giants AS Kigali have named their travelling squad to face KCCA FC in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup first round.
Kigali were awarded a 2-0 victory by CAF after KCCA failed to raise a required number of players for the first leg due to Covid19.
The 23-player squad is set to travel to Kampala for the return leg due January 6.
New signing Lawal Abubaker headlines the squad after the Nigerian scored the all important goal as the side eliminated Botswana’s Orapa United in Kigali at the preliminary round for the side that had lost the first leg 2-1 on the road.
Other new signings Muhadjiri Hakizimana, Emery Bayisenge, Hassan Rugirayabo, Shaban Hussein Tshabalala and Abeddy Biramahire have been included on the team.
Kigali were sixth when the 2019/20 Rwanda Premier League was suspended in March.
When the 2020/21 was given the greenlight to start, the side had their opening two games postponed to allow them prepare for the Orapa game.
In their first game (third) of the season, they beat Mukura 2-0 thanks to goals from Alex Ortomal and Shaban Hussein.

Eric Nshimiyimana, coach of AS Kigali for over six years, will hope that his side will not be affected by less playing time as they seek to sustain their 2-0 advantage.
The side, here after winning the 2019 Peace Cup, were knocked out of the CAF Confederation Cup by Uganda’s Proline FC last season.
