Ali Sabila, three other Ugandans handed Confederation Cup roles

FIFA Referee Ali Sabila will officiate the CAF Confederations Cup second leg tie between Sudanese side Al Hilal Elobied and Namungo FC from Tanzania.

This was confirmed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as they released the list of officials to take charge of the different return legs in both the Confederations cup and Champions League.

Al Hilal is attempting to over turn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg after losing to Namungo, in Tanzania last week.

The two meet on Tuesday, January 05 at the Omdurman El-Hilal Stadium in Khartoum with the Sudanese outfit requiring to win with at least three goals to go through to the next round.

With Sabila in the middle, he will be helped by three other Ugandans who will act as the first and second assistant referees and fourth official.

Isa Masembe and Okello Lee are the first and second assistant referees, respectively while William Oloya takes on the fourth official’s role.

To complete the list of officials for the game Morocco’s Jamal Kaaouachi will be the match commissioner while Makki Elsayed is the COVID-19 officer.

During the CAF Confederations cup 1st round return leg, Uganda will have another representative in for of KCCA FC who will battle Rwandese side AS Kigali.

The Kasasiros lost the first leg 2-0 after failing to rise the required number of players eligible for the game, due to several COVID-19 positive tests ahead of the game.
