Mbowa Says Cranes Will Give Zambia ‘Tough Challenge’

Uganda Cranes defender Patrick Mbowa says that they will give Zambia a tough challenge when the two sides meet on Monday in Pre-Chan mini tournament.

Uganda will be facing Zambia for their second game of the four-nation tournament ahead of CHAN Finals midway this month.

Uganda, with a man down, recovered to draw hosts Cameroon in the opening game and will hope for maximum points against Zambia Chipolopolo.

“We are training harder, the coach summoned good players, one who comes on and one who goes out are all good players,” the URA FC defender said.

“We will give Zambia a tough challenge, they watched our game against Cameroon so they know our strength.

“I thank our coaches for their trust in us, and we also promise to give them the best.”

Mbowa started in the heart of defence alongside Mustafa Mujuzi in the opening game against Cameroon.

“The draw against Cameroon gave us confidence, we fought hard until we got the equaliser despite the red card. We followed the coach’s instructions and we will do the same against Zambia.”

After Zambia, Uganda will face Niger before going into Chan finals where the side is pitted alongside defending champions Morocco, Rwanda and Togo.
