Buddu head coach Lukyamuzi Michael says that his team’s target is to win this year’s Masaza Cup trophy.

Buddu last won the trophy in 2016 when they beat Gomba 6-5 in shootouts after a 1-1 draw in normal time.

They had a good chance to double their trophy tally in 2018 but were beaten by Ssingo in the final at Namboole.

They will start their campaign against Ssese in the Muganzirwaza group on Wednesday.

“We have come here specifically to win the trophy,” Buddu coach Lukyamuzi said.

“We have prepared enough though we got some issues of Covid19 attacking our two players.”

Earlier, Buddu chairman Joseph Lutaaya had confirmed that they will be with 14 not 16 players after the two had tested Positive for Covid19.

“We have been in the camp for the whole month training at the Masaka Reactional grounds and recently we at least got a feel of the astr turf at the Rays of Grace in Kangurumira,” the coach added.

Buddu, mostly banking on enormous fans support, will be without that 13th player as the whole tournament is being played at Njeru behind closed doors due to Covid19.
