Guinea beat Namibia to get off the mark in the ongoing CHAN 2020 on Tuesday.

Guinea won 3-0 and consequently replace Zambia at the helm of Group D.

Yakhouba Barry scored a double and Morlaye Sylla was on target as well at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium.

Barry capitalised on the mistake from Namibia when he intercepted a weak back pass to slot home the opener in the 13th minute.

Sylla doubled the lead from a counter attack to hand Guinea a 2-0 cushion at halftime and Barry put the game to bed with an effort that eluded Namibia goalkeeper to find away into the net with four minutes remaining on the clock.

In the first Group D game earlier, Collins Sikombe and Emmanuel Chabula scored a goal each in the second half to hand Zambia a 2-0 victory against Tanzania.

Guinea and Zambia meet on Saturday on Matchday two in what promises to be a pulsating affair while Namibia and Tanzania will be out to make amends.
