Milton Karisa: Mckinstry Weighs In On Winger’s Injury

Uganda Cranes coach Jonathan Mckinstry has weighed in on his winger’s injury.

Karisa was stretchered off with a muscle injury as the Cranes played out a goalless draw against Rwanda in Group C.

He was replaced by striker Brian Aheebwa in the 18th minute of the game.

“It’s frustrating for everybody. Karisa has done very well for the last few weeks and also finished the UPL very strong, scoring goals and carried on the form to the Pre-Chan Tournament,” Mckinstry said.

“He had to come out in the first 15 minutes of the first game with a thigh injury.”

The Vipers winger is expected to miss the Cranes game against Togo on Friday.

“We are letting the doctors do their work. You see how they did on Halid Lwaliwa and now he is back in training. The doctors have done a good job and it’s too early for Kaliisa, we let the doctors do their work,” Mckinstry added.

“We shall see how he progresses in the next few days and now give a clear timeline in association with the doctor’s work.”

After the goalless draw against Rwanda, the Cranes will need positive results in the subsequent games against Togo and Morocco to book a ticket to the knockout round for the first time.

The gaffer is expected to ring changes to the team that faced Rwanda.

URA FC midfielder Saidi Kyeyune says that they have to work as a team if they are to achieve their set targets in Cameroon.

“Let’s work as a team to win every game in our way and to progress to the next level,” he said.

“This is a great opportunity to market ourselves to the professional level.”
