CHAN Duo Start As Byekwaso Names Starting XI To Face Tanzania

Coach Morley Byekwaso has named his squad to face Tanzania in a friendly encounter at Chamazi Stadium.

Two Uganda Cranes players – Aziz Kayondo and Bobosi Byaruhanga – who played at CHAN, have been included in the starting XI.

Kick off is at 7pm (EAT).

There is only one change for the team that beat this same opponent in the CECAFA U20 Championship in Arusha in December last year.

That change has seen Derrick Kakooza start ahead of Steven Sserwadda.

Goalkeeper Jack Komakech starts in the posts while Villa defend and team captain Gavin Kizito Mugweri leads the defence line alongside Aziz, Musa Ramathan and Kenneth Ssemakula.

Striker Ivan Bogere is expected to shoulder the scoring burden.

Uganda Hippos beat the Heroes 4-1 to win the CECAFA U20 Championship in Arusha.

Richard Basangwa, Steven Sserwadda, Ivan Bogere and Kenneth Semakula were on target for the Hippos.

This, is the first of the two friendlies between the sides as they seek to fine tune ahead of AFCON U20 Championship in Mauritania later this month.

The other friendly will be played on Saturday.
