Express FC Vice Captain Mathias Muwanga says their target is to win against Vipers SC in their upcoming Uganda Premier League game.
The two sides will meet in a match-day two rescheduled fixture on Tuesday, February 09, at the Betway Mutessa II stadium in Wankulukuku.
Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Muwanga who has started all four of Express’s games this campaign, says that they have trained well, corrected their mistakes and target victory come Tuesday.
“We have been preparing well and our target against Vipers is to win, that is what we are eying. Muwanga said
“We have been correcting our mistakes in different positions since the league shut down and as goalkeepers, coach Daniel Kiwanuka has helped us rectify our mistakes and expect a clean sheet tomorrow.”
“Vipers beat MYDA FC in their last game but playing Express FC is a big game and we are more prepared than them (Vipers).”
Vipers head to Wankulukuku on the back of a 7-0 thrashing of MYDA FC, last time out.
However, Muwanga noted that the seven goals do not affect them (Express).
“They may have scores so many goals but that doesn’t affect us.
“This is another game and one that i am confident we will cause them issues.:
Muwanga is Express FC first choice goal keeper and is expected to start in goal on Tuesday.
He has managed just a single clean sheet in the first 4 games this campaign.
After conceding in all the opening three fixtures, Muwanga shut out SC Villa in what was the Red Eagles’ last game, one they won 1-0.
Express FC come into the game as one of just five sides, still unbeaten in the UPL. Unfortunately for them, Vipers is one of the other four sides yet to taste defeat.
The Red Eagles currently sit 7th on the Log with 8 points from four games.
