The long awaited dates for the Masaza cup finals between Gomba FC and Buddu FC has been confirmed by organising committee.
This is good news to fans of both sides who are eager to watch their sides to battle in attempt to try and win the title.
According to the communication, the final and third place match, will be held at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on, Saturday March 6th.
It has also been revealed that only a few fans will be in attendance.
This proceedings were confirmed by the minister for Sports, Leisure and Recreation in Buganda kingdom, Owek Moses Ssekabembe kiberu on Tuesday, February 09.
“We are pleased to announce the official dates (March 6th, 2021), for the final and third place play off matches to be held at St. Mary’s stadium in Kitende. Ssekabembe said
“We thank organizing committee, all the teams, sponsors, our partners and all media houses.”
The final will kick off at 3pm, after the third-placed fixture between Busiro and Bulemeezi which is slated for mid-day.
How both teams reached the finals
Group stage
Both teams Gomba and Buddu came from the same group, Muganzirwaza which also comprised of Sesse and Kabula.
Both sides finished with 7 points but Gomba topped proceedings after scoring more goals.
Quarter finals
Gomba came from a goal down to overcome Bugerere 2-1 in the last eight while Buddu beat Mawokota 2 -0.
Semi finals
Gomba overcame Busiro 5-4 in penalties after playing to a goalless draw in the 90mins. For Buddu, they took care of Bulemeezi 1-0.
