Patrick Aussems: AFC Leopards Unveils Former Simba Coach

Patrick Aussems has been appointed as the new AFC Leopards Sports Club Head Coach, the Kenyan Premier League club has announced.

Aussems joins Leopards having coached Tanzania’s Simba SC to the Tanzanian Premier League title in 2018/19 and reached the quarter finals of the CAF Champions League.

He finds his new side fourth with 19 points from nine games.

The 55-year old German takes over from the former club captain Anthony Kimani who has been an interim since the resignation of Thomas Trucha.

The club has confirmed that he will be in charge of their Saturday’s FKF Cup match against Taita Taveta All Stars in Wundanyi before visiting Bandari on February 19 in the FKF league.

He is a former Standard Liege defender and has coached teams across Europe and Africa for the last 30 years.

He has handled Sudan’s Al-Hilal – he won the Super Cup of Sudan and Congo Brazzaville’s AC Leopards where won the league in 2014 and qualified in the semifinals of CAF Confederation Cup 2014

He has also coached Nepal’s national team.
