Sadat Anaku will be among the absentees as KCCA FC visit BUL FC in the Uganda Premier League on Friday at Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe.

Coach Mike Mutebi revealed the team news during Thursday’s Pre match press conference at Lugogo.

The youngster, commonly known as Adha, was the 2018/19 FUFA Juniors League top scorer with 31 goals but has struggled to establish himself in the senior team partly due to injuries.

Dominic Ayella, Julius Poloto and Gift Ali are the other absentees while the game must have come early for John Revita as well.

The 2018/19 league champions will miss six youngsters who are with the Uganda Hippos in Mauritania for the AFCON U20 Championship – Steven Sserwadda, Sam Ssenyonjo, Joseph Kizza Bukenya, Andrew Kawooya, Joseph Kafumbe and Musa Ramathan.

KCCA FC are fifth with nine points, having lost their last two league games against SC Villa and URA FC.

Mutebi highlighted the importance of a league break as the season returns for the first since December last year.

He stated: “We have managed to organise ourselves and put some few things in place.

“The break has also helped us with some of our new players to gel with the rest of the team and also those ones who have been injured have recovered from injury, and the squad is well prepared and gearing to go, and have a reaction especially after that loss to URA.”

He added that his side needs to “react” because its going to be a competitive season as “Eight clubs can win the league.”

“But as KCCA, we don’t have to worry about the others, we have to perfect our acts and try to play the way we want to play and try to win games.

“Its going to be tough this season.

About Friday’s clash, he commented: “BUL has always given us a lot of problems but we have enough in our armoury to get a needed result.”
