Wakiso Giants midfielder Tom Masiko says he feels ready to play again after being out for a while.
Matsiko who completed a permanent move from Vipers SC at the start of the current campaign, has been out for close to a year.
The midfielder last featured for the Purple Sharks in the 1-0 defeat to Busoga United on February 25, 2020.
He missed Wakiso’s opening five games of the season but returned to full training during the league break and could feature in the game against Mbarara City on Friday.
Speaking to the club’s media, Masiko said he feels ready and can’t wait to play again.
“I can’t wait to play again. He said as quoted by the club’s website.
“It’s frustrating for any player to be out for such a long period but I am happy to be back.
“I feel okay and ready to play again. I thank the medical team and everyone at the club.”
The former KCCA and Vipers midfielder was the third top scorer last season for the Purple Sharks despite sustaining an injury that saw him miss several games.
The return of Masiko gives coach Douglas Bamweyana another option in the central midfield especially after the departure of Gadafi Wahab.
Wakiso Giants will take a trip to Kakyeka to play against Mbarara city on 12 February this Friday in their upcoming fixture.
The Purple Sharks currently sit 10th on the log, with five points collected from five games played so far.
