Express FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa has been fined for improper comments.
The Tactician will pay Shs 2m for making improper comments after his side’s 1-1 draw with Vipers SC on February 09.
Speaking during the post-match interview at Wankulukuku, Bbosa was quoted as saying; “We have drawn with a 12-man Vipers, we had won the match but they used their 12th player, the referee to get a free-kick they scored…”
In his response to the allegations, the former SC Villa and Tooro United coach is understood to have apologized for the comments made stating that it was a lapse in judgement.
However, that did not deter the committee from imposing the fine on him as they claim it is an act aimed at reflecting the seriousness of the offence identified above, quoting Article 8(10)(C) of the FUFA Communications Code.
Speaking to Express FC CEO Isaac Mwesigwa, he confirmed the fine and said that the club accepts it and will not appeal the decision.
“We accept the fine imposed on our coach and as a club, we have decided not to appeal.”
Bbosa has been given 30 days to ensure that the fine or else he faces a three-match ban.
Express FC will return to action on Wednesday, February 17 at home to 13-time League winners KCCA FC.
