KCCA FC are currently enduring their worst run in over five years as they have lost three successive league games.
It is a string of poor results that has put head coach Mike Mutebi under pressure and it looks likely the Kasasiros will not reclaim the title from Vipers SC who won it last season.
Ahead of their match day 7 game away to Express FC, Mutebi believes his experienced players need to up their game if the team is to pick results away from home.
“Losing is part of the game but we’ve not lost in a bad manner. Mutebi stated in his pre-match press conference.
“We shall keep encouraging our players to do what they have to do on the field of play.
“We have been dealing with young players and the experienced one’s haven’t stepped up, they need to know they came to a winning team and they have to show the responsibility and help us manufacture results.”
Despite losing three on the bounce, Mutebi insists his side will not change their style of play, against Express, as many are suggesting.
“Because we’ve lost three games doesn’t mean that i will be desperate to change our style of play, we will stick on our way.
“Of course Express is a good team with a good run coming into the game after beating one of the league contenders but we will go at them and try to win the game.”
KCCA FC have been playing with up to five players away on national duty at the on-going AFCON U20 in Mauritania.
Despite his side losing three games Mutebi went on to say his facing a number of challenges at the moment.
It is an issue that Mutebi has highlighted in this poor run of results.
“Yes we have challenges, 5 of my first team players are not around with injuries as they are with the Uganda Hippos in the AFCON U20.”
Mike Mutebi comes into the Express FC game on February with his job understood to be on the line.
A fourth loss in as many games may see the gaffer axed at KCCA FC.
KCCA FC are currently 7th on the Uganda Premier League table garnering 9 points from 6 games.
On the other hand Express FC are 4th on the table with 12 points from 6games.
