AFCON U20: Uganda Suffer Set Back After Loss To Cameroon

Uganda Hippos suffered a 1-0 defeat to Cameroon at the ongoing AFCON U20 Championship in Mauritania.

Junior Sunday Jang scored the only goal of the game in a match where the Hippos missed some good chances.

Junior Sunday, who scored in the 1-0 win against Mauritania, headed in from a corner in the 32nd minute.

Derrick Kakooza had a chance to level matters but headed out while Richard Basangwa fired off the mark.

Earlier, Basangwa failed a keeper to beat opportunity when he ran onto a chipped pass only for his looped effort to go over the keeper and goal posts.

Uganda registered two of their 14 shots, on target.

At the final whistle, Aziz Kayondo ran to the referee to express his discontent over his officiating.

Morley Byekwaso’s side who beat Mozambique 2-0 in their first group game, remain on three points.

Cameroon have now sealed their place at the knockout stage while Uganda will wait to know their fate when they take on hosts Mauritania on February 20.
