Express FC have started the season in good form and currently sit 4th on the league log.
The Red Eagles are one of just three sides that remain unbeaten this season having won three and drawn as many in their opening six games.
Going into the game, they are coming off three magnificent results against side that they are supposed to be competing with for honours.
They beat SC Villa, drew with Vipers SC and then overcame URA FC 1-0 this past Sunday.
With the team aiming to compete for this year’s title, this is a good run and if they can get past the Kasasiros on Wednesday, they will indeed be looked at as one of the favourites for this season’s crown.
For KCCA FC, they are enduring their worst start to the season under Mike Mutebi.
In their first six games, they have already lost three and won the other three.
The Kasasiros sit in 9th spot on the table and by the end of the day, they could drop further if they loss the game.
A loss for them may also result into the departure of Mike Mutebi who has come under increased pressure due to the poor run of results.
What they are saying
Wasswa Bbosa, Express FC head coach
“We’ve continued from where we stopped, based on our last game Vs URA, we failed to convert many chances although we won the game so concentration in training has been on scoring and i am sure we shall do so.
“KCCA FC is a decent team but we’re prepared to fight and maintain our unbeaten run but most importantly get the maximum points.”
Mike Mutebi, KCCA FC head coach
“We will take the game so serious given its magnitude and history around it.
“It is a derby and derbies are won by teams that show the biggest of character on the day. We need to show that we want to win so that we can pick three points.”
This will be the 23rd meeting between the two sides since December 2010.
In the past 22 match-ups, KCCA have triumphed on nine occasions, Express four with the other nine all ending in draws.
KCCA are currently on a three match unbeaten run against Express FC including a 1-1 draw when the two sides met last season.
