Uganda Hippos Vs Cameroon: Preview, Probable Lineups And How To Watch

Uganda Hippos return to action against Cameroon as match-day two at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations Under-20 takes centre stage in Mauritania.

The Hippos beat Mozambique 2-0 to get off the mark thanks to goals from Derrick Kakooza (penalty) and Steven Sserwadda.

Coached by Morley Byekwaso, the boys played with a lot of confidence but will face a stern test against the Junior Lions.

Cameroon on the other hand, beat hosts Mauritania in the tourney’s opener with Sunday Junior Njang scoring the only goal of the game.

A win for Uganda will seal their place to the knockout, on their debut appearance at the tourney.

To qualify for AFCON U20, the Hippos beat Kenya to storm the final in a CECAFA U20 tournament played in Arusha, Tanzania last year which they consequently won after overcoming Tanzania Ngorongoro Heroes.

Cameroon Pose Biggest Threat

Cameroon were not dominant against Mauritania but managed to pick maximum points thanks to an 80th minute strike from Njang at Olympic Stadium in Nouakchott.

After the game, Cameroon coach Christophe Ousmanou walked out of the press conference after a host journalist asked accused his side of fielding over-age players.

The Cameroonians, athletic and muscular, are expected to bully the Hippos as they target for a place in the knockout.

They won the title wat back in 1995 and have been beaten finalists on four editions including in 2011.
