Preview: Wakiso Target First Home Win

Wakiso Giants play host to SC Villa at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakishha in what promises to be a pulsating affair.

The Purple Sharks will be going all out for their first win at home after draws against Kyetume, Vipers and Bright Stars at home.

They will be buoyed by the 1-0 away win against Mbarara City in their last league game thanks to a Kipson Atuheire goal.

Atuheire, just like goalkeeper Samson Kirya and Hassan Wasswa Dazo, have played at Villa before and will be extra motivated against their former bosses.

Coach Douglas Bamweyana was at the helm at Villa before he was sacked after poor run of results.

Ibrahim Kirya, the assistant coach at SC Villa, helped Wakiso Giants to Uganda Premier League promotion.

Villa are yet to win on the road this season – They drew 2-2 with BUL in their first game before falling at URA and Express FC.

They beat MYDA FC 1-0 in their recent league game in a performance that left a lot to be desired from the record league winners.

Villa are seventh on the table with 10 points while Wakiso are 11th with eight points after six games.

Amir Kakomo and David Owori were on target as SC Villa beat Wakiso who had Fahad Kawooya sent off at Namboole in the only top flight meeting between the two sides.
