Onduparaka 3-1 Kyetume
Aba Bet green light stadium
Kyeline Meddie scored a brace to guide Onduparaka FC past Kyetume in a Uganda Premier League game played at the Ababet Green Light Stadium in Arua.
Oketcho Emmanuel scored the other goal while Isaac Kirabira netted the visitors’ consolation.
The two sides came into the game with the hosts off a 1-0 victory against UPDF while Kyetume had lost 2-0 at Police.
Kyetume’s head coach Livingstone Mbabazi was making a return at Arua where he has had two previous stints.
The opening minutes had a few chances created by both teams as they opted for a more conservative approach.
In the 42nd minute, Okecho who was making his debut handed the Caterpillars the lead.
At the start of the second half, Okocha was put through on goal by Meddie but his shot wasn’t strong enough to beat goal keeper Derrick Were.
In the 60th minute, Kyeline converted from a spot after he was fouled in the area to give the home side their second.
Substitute Kirabira pulled one back for the visitors to give them hope that never matured in the end.
The caterpillars could have scores a third, moments later, but Okocha missed ash his effort rattled the post.
In added time, Meddie sealed his brace to make it 3-1 to the home side and in the process, putting the contest to bed.
Onduparaka now move to the 3rd place with 15 points, while Kyetume drops to 10th with 10 points after 8 games played.
In their next fixtures, Onduparaka will face Police FC on next Wednesday while Kyetume host Bright Stars FC.
