SC Villa needed a late Faizo Kazibwe goal to overcome a spirited Kitara FC side in a league game played at Bombo Barracks.
Kitara led through Peter Lomoro thanks to a Vicent Kasoki assist to take a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Nicholas Kabonge levelled matters when Emmanuel Opio spilled an initial shot in the 50th minute.
Joseph Nsubuga converted from the spot to hand Villa command with 20 minutes on clock after Pius Mbidde brought down Emmanuel Wasswa in the box.
Kitara FC thought they had snatched a point when Denis Monday headed in a cross from Vicent Kasoki to beat Saidi Keni, before Kazibwe found the winner inside the four added minutes.
The loss is the seventh in a row for Kitara who opened their league campaign with an away draw against Kyetume FC.
This is the fourth loss for Villa, coming on a back of a 2-2 draw away at Wakiso Giants, and move to sixth with 14 points.
Kitara are rock bottom with just one point to their name after eight games.
