I Don’t Care If Am Not Given A New Contract – Mike Mutebi

KCCA FC manager Mike Hilary Mutebi says that he is not under pressure amidst growing concerns over his job security at the club.

Speaking after his side’s 5-0 win over struggling MYDA FC at Lugogo, the gaffer added that he will renew his contract if he wants.

“I’m not worried about my job,” Mike Mutebi lightly stated.

It is said that Mutebi’s contract with KCCA FC will expire at the end of the season and sources from corridors have suggested that the club is not willing to renew his contract.

“There’s nothing I’m worried about, I’m still KCCA FC coach and if I want, I will renew my contract,” Mutebi added.

When asked if the club doesn’t offer him a new contract, the coach stated: “I don’t care if am not given a new contract. I am not afraid.”

“I’m not there to worry about my job. No no.

“I will still do what I’ve been doing for the past years – To prepare the team to play beautiful football.

“When my bosses see they don’t need me, no problem, but when I also see things not going well I will also leave.

“You can’t coach good football when you are worried about your job.”

Forward Charles Lwanga and Bright Anukani both netted twice and Moses Aliro scored the other goal as KCCA returned to winning ways after a four-game winless spell.

“We have been losing matches because of school boy mistakes and carelessness, but now the boys are getting to teems with the way we must play,” Mutebi commented on his side’s recent form.

“The players now are getting to know about the way we play. Our style of play is very specific, sometimes it takes these players time to adopt, some adopt immediately but these are young players who are still learning.

“Its good to see the players are improving, you can see Lwanga, Mugume and the others.”

This is the club’s second biggest win this season after the 8-0 mauling of Onduparaka FC at the same venue.

He added: “It gives us confidence scoring five goals. Even in the matches we have lost, we managed to creat chances but the only problem is we were not effective but the lads are now confident ahead of the Wakiso Giants game.”

Mutebi also hailed Lwanga who has managed four goals to his name in the last three games.

When asked if the 5-0 win against MYDA has brought KCCA FC back in contention of the title race, he said: “Of course, we are in a race but everyone in the league is a tittle contender as you can see.”
