Wakiso Giants held KCCA FC to a one-all draw in an eventful league game at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakissha.
KCCA FC were forced into an early substitution when Brian Aheebwa was taken off for Samson Kigozi but it was the substitute who opened the score-sheet with a thunderous effort in the 40th minute.
Wakiso, at the stroke of halftime, were awarded a penalty when Kipson Atuheire was judged to have been tripped in the box.
Rahmat Ssenfuka calmly gave no chance to goalkeeper Charles Lukwago from the spot.
There were ugly scenes later on as KCCA FC fans pelted bottles onto the pitch to show their discontent with the day’s officiating from Referee Ronald Madanda.
“We appear to be lacking an edge in the final third, we don’t express calmness around the box to take our chances,” said coach Douglas Bamweyana after the draw.
“We are doing well elsewhere but the most important element is the finishing. We are gutted not to have the balls cross the line, we are disappointed with the result today against an opponent who didn’t come to play. It was an opportunity for us to get a good result against KCCA, we didn’t take it and so we are disappointed.”
This is the seventh draw for Wakiso Giants who have one win from eight games while KCCA FC are seventh with 13 points.
