AFCON U17 Groups: Uganda Pitted Against Hosts Morocco

Uganda Cubs have been drawn against hosts Morocco in Group A at the forthcoming 2021 AFCON U17 Championship due March 13-31.

The other group A opponents are Zambia and Ivory Coast.

The draw of the AFCON U17 Championship has been held today (Wednesday) at CAF headquarters.

This is the second appearance for Uganda at this stage having made their debut in 2019 in Tanzania where they finished third in the group.

Morocco’s best placement was in 2013 when they finished 4th in 2013, failed to get out of their group in 2019.

Ivory Coast on the other hand, will be making their sixth appearance – They won the title in 2013, finished 3rd and 4th in 2005 and 2011.

Zambia, just like South Africa, qualified as Cosafa champions.

Group A – Morocco, Uganda, Zambia, Ivory Coast

Group B – Nigeria, Tanzania, Algeria, Congo

Group C – Cameroon, Senegal, Mali, South Africa
