Preview – Battle of the unbeaten sides

They currently sit third o the table, two points behind leaders Vipers SC and they know that a victory will see them climb top of the log for at least 24 hours.

One of just three sides yet to lose a contest, the Red Eagles look to be growing in strength by each passing day.

Friday’s game sees them make a return to Wankulukuku after two consecutive away games.

Those away games have seen them impress immensely as they have won both of them while scoring eight goals in the process and conceding just once.

The Red Eagles thrashed BUL FC 4-0 before a brace each from Ssenkaba and Lwesibawa lifted them past MYDA 4-1.

Having drawn 1-1 with KCCA FC in their last game at Wankulukuku, Express head into the game hoping to replicate their away form at home.

However, it will not be easy as they come up with another side yet to register a loss this season.

Despite not losing, Wakiso have however been less impressive as victories are not falling their way.

In nine games, the Purple Sharks have won only once while all the other eight encounters have ended in draws.

The positive is that that victory came in an away game as they took care of Mbarara City FC 1-0 on match-day six.

It will be a huge task for Wakiso, something their head coach Douglas Bamweyana agrees with.

“It is to be a big test for us against a very good opponent who is enjoying a very good run at the moment. Bamweyana noted ahead of the game.

“But we are confident going into the game but we also have to improve on some elements that are not good from our last games.

“It’s generally been a very good week for us in terms of preparations and the nature of opponents that we have.”

Wakiso will start the day in 10th position in the table with 11 points.

Wakiso are 10th on the standings.

The Stats

This will be just the second meeting between the two sides.

Their first and only match-up was in November 2019, one that saw Express thrash Wakiso Giants 3-0 away from home.
