MYDA FC Fans Want Coach Musafiri Out

Zero Wins. One Draw. Eight loses and 32 goals conceded in the process of nine games.

Malaba Youth Development Association FC, fondly known as MYDA FC ‘s results in their debut 2020-21 Uganda Premier League season don’t make for a good reading literally.

Such aforementioned bleak run of results is a true hallmark of a serious relegation contender in every sense of the word.

The poor start to the season has ignited crisis off the pitch of play at the club with a section of the discontented fans clamoring for an immediate sacking of head coach Abdusamadu Musafiri and his technical bench.

They believe that even though Musafari was pivotal in the side’s promotion to the coveted Uganda Premier League as head coach, its time for the gaffer to give room for a new face if MYDA’s fortunes are to improve.

Palcards calling for the sacking of Musafari have been a common fixture at the side’s home games at King George IV memorial Stadium in Tororo and its believed the team’s management has started to buy into the fan’s demands.

However, they (management) still remains tight-lipped on the matter.

Even though the fans have not scaled toxic levels yet, they are looking for scapegoats  at every turn to see the gaffer out.

The former Jinja Municipal Council coach however remains unfazed by what he terms as ”distractions”.

“Those are just distractions to the team.Musafiri noted.

“We are aware of the poor results but soon we shall start collecting points.

“A few things needs to be worked upon as we play well but not finish up the job.”

Quizzed of the side’s defensive fatalities, Musafiri. sounded unequivocal. ” That’s something we a aware of and try to fix immediately.”

MYDA has shipped in 34 goals, the most in the Uganda Premier League and sit bottom of the log.
