The new dates for the kickoff of the 2020/21 FUFA Big League season has been set.
The league, second tier of Uganda league football hierarchy, will start on March 18 2021, The-SportsNation has learnt.
On Friday, FUFA led by Darius Mugoye and Hamid Juma met with the club chairpersons of the Big League clubs in a meeting at Jevine Hotel.
The fixture will be released on March 5 and clubs have been given until March 1 to have full licenses.
Big League kickoff was initially set in October last year before it suffered the first set back before new dates were set on February 4, 2021 which have since been revised.
Luwero United (Buganda Region), Gaddafi (Eastern Region), Terrazo and Tiles (Western Region) and Calvary (West Nile Region) qualified from Regional League to FUFA Big League for the forthcoming season.
Maroons, Tooro United and Proline FC were relegated from UPL to Big League.
The return to competitions has seen teams test players for Covid19 while games are played behind closed doors.
Big League is among the five football competitions that were recently authorised by FUFA to return.
Others include Stanbic Uganda Cup, Women Super League, Women Elite League and the Drum Tournament.
FUFA has said that they will issue guidelines to be adhered to by the respective competitions per Covid19.
