KCCA FC manager Mike Mutebi isn’t bothered about how he criticises his players as long as they continue underperforming.
The gaffer has continuously skinned KCCA FC players during press conferences and it looks like he is not ending the trend soon.
Mutebi made the remarks during the post-match press conference after his side thumped Kitara FC on Saturday.
“The players did not come here to waste time. Noted Mutebi.
“We brought them here to work. This team set high standards so they won’t come here to waste time and I just keep quite.
“I tell them in public and in the dressing room.
“I known the psychology of the Ugandan football fraternity.
“Now like Magambo, today he played well but if he fails we have to get a solution and if I need to criticise him publically, I will.
Mutebi substituted Kezironi Kizito at half time due to poor performance in the first half.
Kizito is one of the players who have been criticised publically in the last few weeks, by Mutebi.
Speaking about Kezironi, Mutebi said that the former Vipers SC midfielder needs to work hard to earn his place in the team.
“By the way, its me who has given those players a second chance as they were written off.
“Kezironi, your are here but you have to face competition meaning you have to raise the game. I have brought Balinnya (Juma) and his is experienced compared to Anukani and when people hear Balinnya they say its done but it won’t get done in words but on the pitch.”
KCCA ended Saturday’s game with an injury scare after striker Sadat who was playing his first game went off with what looked like an injury.
When asked about Anaku’s situation and if it is a concern to him, Mutebi had this to say;
“I am not worried about Anaku but we will wait and see.
“We have Lwanga but having players who are educated we can also shift Aliro to be a centre forward so that will not be an issue if he is injured.”
After match-day 10, KCCA are now 6th with 17 points. Their next game will be away to Busoga United on Wednesday.
