Preview – Wounded Sharks eyeing first home win

It has been a weird start to the season for Wakiso Giants FC.

The Purple Sharks have lost just a single game in their opening 10 games but ironically, have drawn nine of them.

The loss came in their latest encounter as they were schooled 3-0 by Express FC at Wankulukuku.

On Tuesday, they have a chance to bounce back when they take MYDA FC.

Having drawn all of their five home games so far, it is also an opportunity to register their first three points at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

“We had a terrible day out in the last game and it does happen sometimes. Wakiso Giants head coach Douglas Bamweyana spoke ahead of the game.

“But a strong team is marked by how it returns and tomorrow is an opportunity for us to make things right and come out stronger.”

Wakiso have been relatively strong at home as they have held both KCCA FC and Vipers SC to 1-1 draws.

Bamweyana’s side has also netted in each of the five home games, scoring eight goals in the process.

Several questions will be asked of them in case they don’t take care of a MYDA side that has collected just a single point out of a possible 30.

The Tororo based outfit have been one of the poorest in the division so far and start the day bottom of the pile.

MYDA look increasingly destined for relegation back to the Big League as they have failed to get their campaign start.

Currently, they are on a six-game losing streak, conceding as many as 23 goals and scoring just five in that period.

MYDA have also already lost five games while conceding four or more goals and must be worry of a Wakiso side that has scored in seven of their 10 games.

The Stats

This will be the first ever meeting between the two sides.
