Uganda Hippos attacking midfielder Steven Sserwadda has promised Uganda that the trophy is coming home.
Sserwadda and his Hippos team mates are currently in the final of the AFCON U20 championships in Mauritania.
They are slated to face Ghana on Saturday, March 06 at 11pm EAT, after overcoming Tunisia 4-1 in the semis.
Speaking ahead of the game, Sserwadda has promised Ugandan, back home, that they will do all they can to win the final.
“I thank the Almighty who has enabled us reach this stage Sserwadda stated
“To all the Ugandans back home, I promise we shall work hand in hand to bring the trophy home and make Ugandans proud.”
Sserwadda is one of only two Hippos players to score more than one goal at the tournament.
His two goals came in the group stage and he is yet to net in the knockouts.
This is Uganda’s debut appearance at the tournament
