Preview – A Battle Between Fourth And Third
Tuesday will see a battle between two sides that have impressed for large parts of this campaign.
Police have punched slightly above their weight so far as they continue to march towards title contention.
After two impressive draws away to away to Bright Stars and SC Villa, either side of a 3-1 victory at home to Mbarara, the Cops have made clear indications that they will just not go away from the chasing pack.
They sit in fourth spot with 24 points, four behind leaders Express FC and three adrift of URA.
Abdallah Mubiru’s side has been in scintillating form of late at home and have won all their previous five games at Lugogo scoring 14 goals and conceding just three.
However, their worry will be the first that they have been conceding goals of late as they have let in five in their last three games.
Against URA, they must know they need to take care of their shortcomings in defence as they come up against a good side.
The Tax Collectors look to have put their house in order of late and set their sights on trying to compete for this year’s title.
Sitting just a single point behind leaders Express FC, Sam Simbwa’s side will go top of the log with victory at Police coupled with the Red Eagles failing to take care of UPDF FC on the same day.
After going on a six-match unbeaten run since losing to Express, the Tax Collectors must be confident they can get the job done.
URA FC have won all four of their last league games including two at home and as many away from home.
This will be the 21st meeting between the two sides since January 2011.
In the past 20 match-ups, URA have been dominant, winning 11 and losing just three of them.
URA heads into the encounter having won both of the last two games away to Police FC.
Last season, each side took three point of the other, winning their respective away fixture.
The last time Police beat URA at home was on November 2017.
How to watch
The match will be live on Sanyuka TV at 4pm EAT.
