Preview – Red Eagles Out To Maintain Unbeaten Start

Express FC have been in good form since the campaign started and continue impressing with each passing day.

They currently sit top of the table, just a point above Vipers SC and know victory will see them maintain top spot regardless of what happens elsewhere on match-day 13.

After Vipers loss to Mbarara City on Saturday, the Red Eagles are now the only unbeaten side in the division and seem to be growing in strength with each passing day.

Tuesday’s game sees them return on the road impressing on their last three travels.

Those away games have seen them impress immensely as they went on to win all of them while scoring nine goals in the process and conceding just once.

The Red Eagles thrashed BUL FC 4-0, saw a brace each from Ssenkaba and Lwesibawa that lifted them past MYDA 4-1 and also overcame Kitara FC 1-0.

They are coming off a slender 1-0 victory at home to Busoga United FC in their last league game, one that was achieved courtesy of a Frank Kalanda penalty.

Having won all of their past five games, Bbosa’s side must be full of confidence going into the game on Tuesday and will be out to make it six victories on the trot.

UPDF FC lost 6-1 at KCCA FC in their last encounter in a performance that saw them register their heaviest loss this season.

Coach Kefa Kisala will be expected to ask for a reaction from his players although they need to be cautious as they come up against the league leaders.

Its been a tricky spell for UPDF who beat Villa, lost to URA and KCCA and they will need a positive result on Tuesday to put their season back on track.

Currently, they sit in 7th spot with 18 points from 12 games, an impressive return for a side that is just making their return to top flight football.

The Stats

This will be just the third meeting between the two sides since 2017.

All the previous two match-ups have ended in home victories.

The last time UPDF hosted Express, the Army side won 1-0 back in September 2017.
