KCCA FC midfielder Bright Anukani says he wants to score more goals and make more assists for his side.
Anukani scored the all important goal in the 66th minute as his side overcame Kyetume FC by 1-0 in a league game played at Fufa Technical Centre in Njeru on Tuesday.
The hard fought win takes KCCA to 4th place with 27 points, three below leaders URA FC.
The goal against Kyetume is Anukani’s fourth in the season at KCCA and the midfielder says he wants more.
“I want to score more goals to help the team and also to make assists. He said after the game.
“I set my self a target of 10 goals and 15 assists this season.
“I feel so happy for scoring my team and help it take the three points.
“The three points will help the team to go forward because we want to be on top and I think the points we got today will help us get there.”
Despite the victory, Anukani was quick to say it wasn’t an easy game and he gives thanks to God for the victory.
“It has not been an easy game, because our opponents also wanted to win but I thank God for giving us victory.”
In the last two games against UPDF and Kyetume, head coach Mike Mutebi has deployed Gift Ali in a deep laying role and Anukani and Mugume in more offensive role giving the former freedom to go forward.
On this, Anukani says he has played with both players before and it is easy for him
“I have been playing with both players, Gift and Mugume. For Gift I played with him while still at Proline so it is easy for me playing with them.”
KCCA faces Police FC and Vipers SC in their next games but Anukani is still positive ahead of the two clashes
“The two teams are strong and are on top, ahead of us but we are also a strong side and we can go for positive results when we face them.”
The Kasasiro boys now sit fourth on the log with 27 points from 13 games played.
