Preview – Key Battle At Lugogo

KCCA look to have turned the corner of late after an average start to the season and are slowly but steadily climbing up the table.

After losing three of their opening six games, they have now gone seven games unbeaten, winning five and drawing the other two.

They come into the game having won all their last four games on the trot, scoring 15 goals and conceding just one.

That run of form has seen them climb as high as 4th on the standings and they will start the day just four points off top spot.

With the top two of URA FC and Vipers SC facing off on Saturday, the Kasasiro Boys know they have a chance to close in on at least one of the sides above them and will go into Friday’s game with lots of motivation.

Strikers Charles Lwanga and Sadat Anaku have been scoring of late and that is a welcome sign for Mutebi after seeing his early season marksman Brian Aheebwa hit a dry spell of late.

If the two can bring their recent form into play, KCCA have a big shot a victory as they look to have stabilised in midfield following the return of Gift Ali and the defence is also shutting out opponents at the other end.

For Police, they will be desperate for victory after failing to win any of their last two games.

They may have impressed in the draw at Villa but the manner of their loss to URA FC must have left them disappointed as they were clearly outclassed at their own patch.

A second straight match at Lugogo is what is on the cards for them and against KCCA, they come up against a side with whom they share a style of play, something that can surely play in their favour as the hosts no longer possess the fire power they had in the past few seasons.

Starting the day in 5th spot, the Cops sit just six points off the summit and victory can re-ignite their campaign.
