The Tax Collectors sat top for just 24 hours after beating Police on Tuesday before they dropped to second following Vipers win over Villa the following day.

After a brilliant run in the last few match-days which has seen Sam Simbwa’s side win all their last five games, a victory is clearly not out of their reach and will feel confident heading into the contest.

URA have been in good form at both ends as they have scored nine goals whilst conceding just two at the other end in those five victories.

The win at Police was achieved in a convincing manner and if they can put up a similar performance against the defending champions, the day may easily belong to them.

URA must also be full of confidence after beating both Villa and KCCA FC with the only loss suffered against the big boys coming at the hands of Express FC on match-day six.

For Vipers, they start the day top of the pile and need to only avoid defeat to ensure they head into the last match-day of the first round as the leaders.

After succumbing to their first loss of the season, last weekend, the Venoms bounced back in style as they powered past Villa 3-0 on Wednesday.

That particular victory must have sent a clear signal to their competitors that they (Vipers) have the mental strength to recover from a set back.

Vipers have also performed fairly well against side that are directly competing with them for the title as they have already beaten up on both Villa and Police and also picked up a vital point away to Express FC.

Their recent form is also impressive as they have won five of their last six games with the only exception being the 1-0 loss to Mbarara City on match-day 12.

Vipers have lost only one of their past six games.

The return of the boys from AFCON U20 gives Fred Kajoba more options across the pitch, adding quality to a squad that is already oozing with talent.

The Stats

This will be the 21th meeting between the two sides since February 2011.

In the past 29 meetings, each has won six with the other eight all ending in draws.

Last season, each of the two sides won their respective home games with URA taking care of Vipers 3-1 in Ndejje.

Vipers have not performed well at URA in the last few years, winning just once in their past visits (D4 L2).

The last time the Venoms won a game away to URA was back in March 2018.
