Police FC’s Brian Mululi has been named the Pilsner player of the month of February, 2020.
The striker was crowned at an event on Monday, March 15 at Kati Kati Restaurant in Kampala.
To win it, Mululi beat off competition from Express FC striker George Ssenkaba and Vipers SC forward Paul Mucurezi.
The former Kitara FC striker scored five goals and assisted two more during the month, stats that ensured he was pivotal in his side’s decent run that saw them register three victories, one draw and just a single loss.
At the same event, Vipers’ tactician Fred Kajoba was named the coach of the month.
Kajoba beat off stiff competition from Wasswa Bbosa of Express FC, to win the award.
During February, Kajoba oversaw four victories and two draws in the six matches that they played, ensuring that his side goes through the month unbeaten.
What they said at the event
“I thank God for everything that he has enabled me to achieve in the past month.
“I also thank everyone including the fans, family and everyone who has enabled me to achieve this today.”
“I am very happy for being named the coach of the month. I think if you are in Vipers you are supposed to be named the coach of the month frequently.
“I thank my players and technical team for the job done because without their efforts, i wouldn’t have won it.
“I advise the young players to act in a professional manner so as to ensure their careers progress.”
The Pilsner monthly awards are awarded at the beginning of every month.
UPDF FC coach Kefa Kisala and KCCA striker Brian Aheebwa won the coach and manager of the month of January respectively.
