Uganda Premier League
Onudparaka FC 0-3 URA FC
Green Light Stadium
URA FC comfortably took care of Onduparaka 3-0 at the Green Light Stadium to finish the first around at the top of the Uganda Premier League summit.
Steven Mukwala scored a brace and Cromwell Rwothomio added the other strike as the tax collectors extended their good record against the Caterpillars in Arua.
The first one for the visitors, was a well initiated counter attack which caused problems to Hamza Geriga who failed to clear the host’s lines, allowing Mukwala to beat Tony Kimera and hand visitors the lead in the 21st minute.
Mukwala doubled his and URA’s tally on 61 minutes to take the lead on-top of the scoring standings with 9 goals.
Moments later, Rwothomio put the icing on the cake as he bundled home from close range after Brian Nkuubi’s fierce drive came off the cross bar.
It was a disappointing outing for Onduparaka who failed to put away their chances, most notably, Augustine Okocha’s header which could have levelled the game at 1-1 in the first half.
The loss leaves Onduparaka in 8th spot with 21 points from 15 games.
URA have now won seven successive game and sit top of the pile with 36 points, three ahead of second placed Vipers SC who beat KCCA FC on the same day.
